"Big thank you to Mark Strauss for all his help with our recent car insurance dealings. My son was parked at a red light when he was hit from behind. He had just picked the car up from the mechanic where we had had the oil changed. The car had to be towed to the body shop andwhen they were fixing it they noticed some fluid leaking. When they were done with their part we had the car towed back to the original mechanic that did the oil change to look into the problem. He informed us that the leak was fluid from the steering column (a rather costly fix) but when we called back the claims adjuster to tell them of the new problem, he decided it couldn't have happened from the accident even though the mechanic stated that the car hadn't been leaking prior to the oil change. Since the mechanic refused to put in writing that the leak was caused by the accident, the adjuster wouldn't allow it.

We were able to find another mechanic who was willing to put in writing that he thought it was caused by the accident after he looked at the car so we had the car towed there and called in the adjuster again. Since the adjuster already had his mind up that the problem hadn't been caused by the accident, he would not consider the additional claim. Thanks to Mark's wonderful communication skills, the adjuster reconsidered and with the information that both mechanics provided, the claim included the additional charges required to fix the car correctly.
